The Programming committee takes care of all the behind the scene details to ensure WLAO members and the broader legal community have access to regular, engaging and accessible events. The committee meets regularly and provides a supportive environment to hone various skills like public speaking, networking and logistics management.
There are several annual events that the committee maintains and adapts to the changing needs of the community, including the Annual Awards Gala, Deb Snead Memorial Golf Event, Speed Mentorship, Hire-back Strategizing, Champaign and Shop, and a number of other social events. There are regular Lunch-n-Learns or substantive speaker series that the committee hosts, which can contribute to fulfilling participant’s CPD hours.
WLAO is committed to bringing value by providing both "member only" events as well as opportunities for the broader legal community to get involved. The committee also facilitates the organization of special or one-off events such as last year’s 100th Year Anniversary Gala. New ideas to meet the needs of the community are always welcomed.
Throughout 2022-23 the committee aims to pay particular attention to increasing access by hosting virtual events and extending more opportunities to non-GTA community members.
