Mental health isn't a task that can be simply checked off a to-do list but rather something we must learn to incorporate into our daily lives and legal profession.
In WLAO's ongoing efforts to help lawyers incorporate practices to maintain good mental health we are pleased to present an evening with three practitioners that will provide hands-on experience and practical tips.
Our panellists will first share their path to setting up and incorporating their well-being practices, the impact it has had on their lives and the benefits attendees may derive from incorporating such practices.
In the break out rooms Beth Mountford will lead the group in a Breathwork session, Madiha Vallani will guide the group in a mindfulness session and Teresa Isabel Dias will help dispel the myths of menopause and offer practical solutions for the effects, especially as related to professional women.
Expected Agenda:

5:30 - Intro and discussion by three panelists on their respective mental health practices

6:20 - Attendees will be separated into three breakout rooms to experience one practice in more depth

6:50 - Return as a group for final thoughts

Description

In WLAO's ongoing efforts to help lawyers incorporate practices to maintain good physical and mental health, we are pleased to present an evening with three practitioners that will provide hands-on experience and practical tips. Mental health isn't a task that can be simply checked off a to-do list but rather something we must learn to incorporate into our daily lives and legal profession. Mental health impacts are felt through the lens of equity and inclusion, and lawyer requirements to manage their professional and personal well-being.  Working towards creating a balanced personal and professional life filters through to the organizational cultures in which we live and practice.
